China's Leap | New Discovery from China's Chang'e-6 Lunar Soil Sample!

This finding suggests these meteorites once struck the Moon, melting and rapidly crystallizing upon impact — leaving microscopic residues now identified in the lunar soil. The discovery not only deepens understanding of how materials migrate across the solar system, but also provides new clues to the origin of lunar water.

Published in PNAS, the study marks a major step toward tracing how volatile elements and water were delivered to the Moon — and possibly, how life-related materials reached the early Earth.
