Poem Links China and Italy: A Cross-Border Friendship Between an Italian PhD and a Chinese Delivery Rider-Poet
Lin Mingyue, an Italian PhD student at Sapienza University of Rome and a lover of contemporary Chinese poetry, was deeply touched by Chinese "delivery rider-poet" Wang Jibing’s 3 P.M.. With his permission, she co-translated the poem—depicting a mother and daughter asleep in a Shaxian Snacks restaurant—into Italian, which was published in Italy’s Internazionale and resonated with Sino-Italian readers. Having studied Chinese for over 10 years, Lin visited Wang in Kunshan in July 2025, forging a cross-border friendship. Notably, this bond inspired her Roman delivery rider brother to write, embodying literature’s power to transcend borders and connect hearts.
