The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has decided to award the 2024 Nobel Prize in Physics to John Hopfield of Princeton University, USA, and Geoffrey Hinton of the University of Toronto, Canada, in recognition of their foundational developments and inventions in machine learning through artificial neural networks.
