As the United Nations Deputy Secretary-General, Amina Mohammed addressed at the opening ceremony of the 2024 World Youth Development Forum, quality education is one of the key areas for effectively supporting young people. "Quality education is not just about gaining knowledge; it's about developing critical thinking, creativity, and resilience in this new era of technology. Quality education gives youth the tools to navigate a complex world, and access to quality education and lifelong learning is the youth".  

Raden Isnanta, Deputy Minister for Youth Development of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Indonesia, mentioned at the plenary meeting of the 2024 World Youth Development Forum that, to promote youth entrepreneurship and innovation in youth talent development effectively, "significant efforts are needed including programs that improve skills, job opportunities, and active participation of youth in economic development".

Chido Mpemba, African Union Special Envoy on Youth, emphasized the importance of empowering young people with digital skills at the plenary meeting of the 2024 World Youth Development Forum. "For young people, having strong digital skills opens up opportunities for employment, entrepreneurship, and innovation. It also empowers them to participate more fully in the global economy and to address local challenges with tech-based solutions". She also revealed the current digital divide in Africa, "80% of Africa's workforce lacks the digital skills required for future employment opportunities". Therefore, increasing digital literacy and training programs is crucial to prepare the workforce for an increasingly digital and technology-driven job market.

Have you ever noticed any small actions that had an incredible impact on youth? Sina Kalhor, Vice Minister of Culture and Youth Affairs of the Ministry of Sports and Youth of Iran, shared his insights on small yet significant actions on youth at the plenary meeting of the 2024 World Youth Development Forum. "Change does not always have to be monumental. The cumulative effect of small yet impactful actions can create a powerful force for youth empowerment. As adults, we can serve as role models by incorporating small acts into our daily lives. For example, a simple compliment, a word of motivation, or a moment of recognition can inspire young people to pursue their dreams".  

Carlos Jesús Vilela Del Carpio, National Youth Secretary of Peru, shared the experience of Peru in promoting the active participation of young people in climate action and in contributing to environmental sustainability at the plenary meeting of the 2024 World Youth Development Forum. "In collaboration with the Ministry of the Environment, we have launched two key services that could ensure the active participation of our youth in environmental protection. One is capacity building through volunteering, the other is providing technical assistance to environmental youth organizations".

  

As the Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs of Russia, Dennis Ashirov presented suggestions for promoting youth development at the plenary meeting of the 2024 World Youth Development Forum, which he drew from his working experience. "One of the effective ways to cooperate with youth is creating attractive points for them, where they can meet with friends as well as take part in socially beneficial events. That is why we are organizing the Regional Competition for the Youth, which aims to upgrade the existing infrastructure related to youth policies in Russia's various regions. We are not just building the infrastructure, but also introducing educational programs, supporting youth initiatives, and constructing local communities in different regions".  

Promoting cooperation is crucial for bringing people worldwide together to address global challenges. Kevin Frey, CEO of Generation Unlimited of UNICEF, shared his insights on how to build platforms that can enhance cooperation among the youth at the plenary meeting of the 2024 World Youth Development Forum. "The key to developing global platforms such as Generation Unlimited is to have real leadership from young people. That means having young people at the table and helping more young people to engage in a series of global cooperation projects".

  

As the Commissioner for Human Development and Social Affairs of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), Fatou Sow Sarr expressed her views on how to ensure equal access to opportunities for young people at the plenary meeting of the 2024 World Youth Development Forum. "The ECOWAS has always been committed to helping young people in all countries out of difficulties and strengthening their capacity building. Africa has huge development potential, and we need to give African youth enough development space so that they can make more contributions to global youth development".
