As the United Nations Resident Coordinator in China, Siddharth Chatterjee addressed at the plenary meeting of the 2024 World Youth Development Forum, "The spirit of the United Nations is to bring nations together to revive multilateralism, and young people are very important forces because the youth today are perhaps the only generation of people who are best connected globally".

Danijel Bačan, President of Youth Atlantic Treaty Association, shared his ideas on achieving SDG 4 (quality education) from his perspective as a geography teacher at the 2024 WYDF youth lightning talks. "Quality education is highly dependent on the capabilities and dedication of teachers. We must prioritize the training and constant professional development of teachers. By equipping them with modern teaching skills and resources, we can ensure that high-quality and effective education will be provided".

Kesha Martiny Yogasundaran, MaritimeSG Youth Ambassador, introduced how she aligned her undergraduate graduation project Magnetic Repulsion Technology with SDG 13 (climate action) at the 2024 WYDF youth lightning talks. "The project focuses on utilizing magnetic repulsion to power ships, significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions and dependence on fossil fuels. This is a feasible idea, especially for countries like Singapore. Compared to solar energy and solar panels, such small turbines require less space while providing more energy".

As the CEO and Founder of Art for Climate Zambia and Youth Leader of The Green Development Academy, David Chapoloko has been committed to mitigating climate change and promoting sustainable development. "Our Green Development Academy's programs provide a digital platform to help Zambian farmers make connections and adopt climate-intelligent methods to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, thus increasing climate resilience. Our success is rooted in passion, creativity and adaptability. We empower farmers and youth leaders to build a strong, resilient future for effective climate action".

Ngwantshabu Bridget Mkhondo, Founder and Managing Director of BW & Daughter Farms and Youth Leader of Organic Vegetable Production, presented on the status of agriculture in Africa at the 2024 WYDF youth lightning talks, which is in great need of positive changes. "The African continent has approximately 2.6 billion hectares of land, with 60% of it considered arable. However, only about 20% to 25% of this land is currently being cultivated. Moreover, around 65% of the population is still engaged in subsistence agriculture, which is highly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change".

Muhammed Jaseel Charuvil Kunnummal, Co-Founder of Khoj India, shared his vision of reducing poverty and building a better future at the 2024 WYDF youth lightning talks. "I have three suggestions for world leaders and all humanity. Firstly, move beyond absolute poverty and integrate all forms of poverty into policymaking. Secondly, increase social mobility by creating opportunities for economic and social progress for the poor. Thirdly, strengthen social safety nets to ensure effective support for the poor during crises".

As the Teacher of Development Aid from People to People in Zimbabwe and Youth Leader of Frontline Institute in Zimbabwe, Macllister Tawanda Nyandoro advocates for sustainable development and global citizen education with his academy. He shared at the 2024 WYDF youth lightning talks, "Our training programs ensure that all learners can acquire the knowledge and skills needed to promote sustainable development, sustainable lifestyles, human rights and a culture of peace, and an understanding of cultural diversity".

Georgios Botis is a PhD student at the Biomedical Engineering Laboratory of the National and Technical University of Athens. At the 2024 WYDF youth lightning talks, Georgios shared his views on accelerating the achievement of the SDGs by applying AI in various fields. "My work in artificial intelligence primarily focuses on advancing health technology, but we must recognize that the potential of AI extends far beyond the health sector. AI has transformative potential to contribute to various sustainable development goals. For instance, AI can optimize resource management, improve urban planning, and design innovative strategies. Such wide applications highlight the crucial role of AI as a sustainability driver".

Wang Zhenyang, CEO of Hangzhou Wen'er Information Technology Co., Ltd., introduced his innovative AI project of an emotion mapping system at the 2024 WYDF youth lightning talks. "We developed a system that utilizes smartphones and AI technologies to understand user behaviour and the personal characteristics embedded in their behaviour. We also aim to help young people develop good habits through self-awareness. Over the past two years, we have written over half a million lines of code, assisting thousands of young people to manage anxiety and establish positive habits".

Issah Fatimah Abiola, Locomotive Driver of CCECC Nigeria Limited, is Nigeria's first female train driver. She shared her working experiences and called for more global collaboration at the 2024 WYDF youth lightning talks. "I have witnessed the construction and operation of Nigeria's standard gauge railways and light rail systems. Through cooperation with China, Nigeria has acquired advanced technology, created numerous job opportunities, and achieved rapid economic growth. I sincerely call for more international cooperation like the Belt and Road Initiative and hope that global collaboration can be involved in achieving all SDGs".

Zhong Nanshan, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, encouraged the youth of today with his own experience during the 2024 WYDF Inter-generation Dialogue. "I have been working for 64 years since 1960, but my goal is more than that, I look forward to addressing new challenges. My goal is to persist in serving medical research and human health for 70 years by 2030".

Wang Yaping, Chinese Astronaut and Vice Chairman of the All-China Youth Federation, encouraged the youth of today to work hard and pursue their dreams during the 2024 WYDF Inter-generation Dialogue. "When young people have aspirations in their minds, there is power at their feet. If you set up your ambition from a young age, you may realize it one day".

As the Secretary General of World Assembly of Youth, Ediola Pashollari stressed the importance of youth remaining true to themselves while listening to the advice around them at the same time during the 2024 WYDF Inter-generation Dialogue. "I advise young people to be leaders of their lives first, then their communities, and countries, because young people do have the skills and ambitions to bring changes".

Deng Yawen, the Chinese Athlete who just won the Champion of Women's BMX Freestyle at the 2024 Paris Olympics, encouraged youth to work together for a better future during the 2024 WYDF Inter-generation Dialogue. "'Higher, faster, stronger, and more united'. This is the belief that athletes pursue, and it is also the direction that young people should follow in the future".
