Yang Yue's love for paper-cutting began through her father, a master of Beijing's 'Zayan' kite-making. Inspired by childhood visits to folk art exhibitions, she created her first paper-cut and has continued ever since.

Paper-cutting is a traditional Chinese art, especially popular during festivals. Yang has modernized it by combining paper-cutting with photography, using light and shadow to create striking visuals. Her goal is to inspire younger generations to appreciate and carry on this cultural heritage.
