Programs showcase丨Action Plan for Global Youth Development 2025(NO.10-NO.15)

The “African Youth Conference” project, led by Genevieve & David Empowerment Foundation, aims to create a forum that brings together the voices of young people and facilitates the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. The program has successfully held three sessions of conference activities. It has become an influential annual youth forum and reached the Abuja Resolution in 2024 to strengthen youth-led cooperation and leadership.

The “Empowering Communities through Sustainable Agricultural Practices” project, led by Building Children's Future, aims to address key issues such as youth unemployment and food insecurity by promoting sustainable agricultural practices. The program provides practical training in organic farming and entrepreneurship. It involves land preparation and the cultivation of crops on a 20?hectare plot and provides training for more than 30 young people.

The “Capacity and Skill Training for Young Cartographers” project, led by OpenStreetMap Ghana, aims to build an open geospatial information sharing ecosystem through the “community driven + technology empowered” model. It has established a youth mapper network and deployed a drone remote-sensing system to improve data collection efficiency. The program has conducted more than 50 training courses, reaching over 800 students and making more than 500,000 map revisions.

The “Digital and Sustainability Experience” project, led by Aban Center for Global Policy, introduces young people to the opportunities in the fields of sustainability and the digital realm. The program engages young people in solutions through activities like the “Eco-Awards” challenge. It has benefited more than 4,000 young people and has successfully grown into Africa’s largest youth-led sustainability and digital transformation conference.

The “Africa Digital Leaders” project, led by Child Online Africa, aims to teach creative and responsible digital skills to young African leaders aged 8 to 16. The program carries out a wide variety of activities and collaborates with the UNESCO Office in Ghana. It has provided programming training to 300 female students in Ghana, enhancing participants' digital literacy and interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics careers.

The “Empowering Deaf Communities through Real-Time AI Sign Language Translation” project, led by Signvise Limited, builds a two-way communication bridge through AI-driven real-time sign language translation technology. The company has developed an innovative platform that supports real-time conversion between text/voice and sign language. It has built Africa’s largest sign language motion capture database and verified the technology with more than 2,000 deaf users.
