Youth Voice | Salaheddine Bakor: Pan-African Youth Program Boosting Youth Empowerment Across Africa

At the 2026 Acceleration Week for Global Youth Development, Salaheddine Bakor from Morocco, Deputy Secretary-General of the Pan-African Youth Union, introduced the African Youth Empowerment and Sustainable Development Acceleration Program—a continent-wide initiative tackling key challenges such as limited access to education, employment, and entrepreneurship for African youth. To date, it has covered all 54 AU member states, engaged over 3,000 youth leaders in summits, integrated 10+ youth policy recommendations into official documents, facilitated partnerships among 100+ youth programs, and indirectly benefited over 50,000 people.
