At the 2026 Acceleration Week for Global Youth Development, Gurali Haxhillari from Albania, founder and executive director of Balkan Youth Action, introduced his organization's unique approach to youth development — not just teaching entrepreneurship, but building entire entrepreneurial ecosystems. By guiding students to identify local challenges, design solutions, compete for funding, and implement projects that generate real social impact, the program transforms education into a tool for local development. At the same time, schools, municipalities, businesses, and civil society work together to support these initiatives, creating a collaborative model where young people become job creators and community change-makers rather than future job seekers.
