Deaf girl Hu Ying defied silence to excel in medical studies. Using devices to transcribe lectures, she spent 3 hours nightly reviewing notes—a method initially mistaken for indifference. She achieved CET-4 score 514, GPA 4.01, won national computer competitions and multiple scholarships. Choosing medicine to help hearing-impaired people "reconnect with the world", she embodied her belief: "Since the world never gave up on me, why should I give up?" Graduating with honors, she now aims to empower others through healthcare.
