China's Leap | China Targets Average Life Expectancy of 80 by 2030

At a press conference on October 24, Lei Haichao, Minister of the National Health Commission, said China aims to raise its average life expectancy from 79 to about 80 during the 15th Five-Year Plan period. He noted that health services will shift toward prevention and overall wellness, strengthen integrated care for early diagnosis and treatment, and improve the public health system’s accessibility and balance.
