BEIJING, Dec. 29 -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0 jolted 15 km NNW of Susanville, California at 0041 GMT on Monday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 5.4 km, was initially determined to be at 40.54 degrees north latitude and 120.69 degrees west longitude.
