China condemns secessionism, external interference in name of cross-Strait peace

China will not accept any attempt to hinder its actions against secessionism or to interfere in its internal affairs by using the pretext of upholding peace across the Taiwan Strait, a defense spokesperson said Friday.
Zhang Xiaogang, spokesperson for China's Ministry of National Defense, made the response to a media query about statements from Taiwan leader Lai Ching-te and several countries including the United States, Japan, Australia and the Philippines on the recent "Justice Mission-2025" military exercises conducted by the People's Liberation Army Eastern Theater Command.
