A survey of 1,334 freshmen by China Youth Daily's Social Survey Center finds that 69.0% like their major, 26.4% feel neutral, and 4.6% dislike it.

The top concerns are unclear career paths (45.4%), passive learning (37.2%), and uncertainty about which skills to build (37.2%). To adapt, 52.7% read major-related books and 44.5% join academic clubs or study groups.
