A Wonderful Journey
"It's such a great experience that young people from more than 40 countries sit together in the high-speed train, discussing the past, present, and future. "Said Elizabeth-Teodora Kasa-Maelksoo, the consultant and senior trainer of Council of Europe Youth Department Trainers Pool from Romania. From August 10th to 18th, she participated in the Asia-Europe Young Leaders Campus (Asia-Europe Camp), where more than 50 young representatives from 47 countries took the high-speed train from Beijing to Hangzhou and participated in workshops, field visit, and other exchange activities.
In Hangzhou, the Asia-Europe Camp visited the Liangzhu Museum. The campers lingered in front of the Jade Yue and Jade Cong unearthed in the ancient city of Liangzhu. These cultural relics, together with the ruins of the ancient city, witnessed the 5,000-year history of Chinese civilization. Hazal Sude Satkin, vice chair at International Committee for Education of Erasmus Student Network, said, "In Liangzhu, we saw how history nurtured the civilization of this place. This is a wonderful journey." (Reporters: Jiang Yutong, Cui Wenhan and Jiang Jixuan from China Youth Daily, Intern: Shen Yijia)
