In June 2022, during the High-Level Dialogue on Global Development, President Xi Jinping announced, “China will host the World Youth Development Forum and jointly launch the Action Plan for Global Youth Development to mobilize the broadest forces for the implementation of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.” Subsequently, in July, the inaugural World Youth Development Forum was held, where participating Chinese and international youth representatives jointly issued the “International Initiative on Prioritizing Youth Development,” advocating for the implementation of the Action Plan for Global Youth Development.

The Action Plan, co-implemented by the All-China Youth Federation, the World Youth Development Forum Organizing Committee, and youth organizations from various countries, aims to establish a project demonstration platform, a community of youth pioneers, and an international youth movement to implement the Global Development Initiative and the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. By selecting and promoting exemplary projects where youth contribute to global development and mutual youth advancement, and by providing training and empowerment to young project leaders, it actively advocates for international youth action, promotes unity and cooperation among Chinese and foreign youth, and gathers youthful strength to build a community with a shared future for mankind.
